Puppy foundations 30-45minute

A confident dog is far less dangerous than a nervous or scared dog! Dogs live in a fast-paced, at times overwhelming human-shaped world.
I excel in building a dog’s self-assurance by giving the dog the tools and ability to navigate what could be thought of by the dog in a stressful or intimidating situation.
From everyday rules and boundaries to obedience foundation, your puppy will be shown a new way to look at their world! By taking a puppy that has not experienced a lot and giving them the tools and rules to confidently navigate the world that they live in, I will build a communication system for you and your dog to learn together.
Puppies are fun and cute and it can be easy to let them get away with things you may not allow an older dog to. This is where a strong foundation can be helpful. Dogs inherently want a leader within the pack. With my system, you can become the leader, but more so become their partner. I like my dogs to work with me, not for me.

Rattlesnake aversion
In the Pacific Northwest, we have many critters that can harm a dog. One of them is the rattlesnake. In this class, I will teach your dog to avoid rattlesnakes.
Basic Obedience
Dogs appreciate training. They like to know the rules and how things work. For example, when you go for a walk in the rain your dog can “wait” at the door to have their feet wiped off before going inside. Or, your dog can “wait” at its food bowl before they begin to eat. This course also includes:
Loose leash walking
Manners when meeting people and dogs
Basic commands(sit, stand, down) and recall with distraction
Crate training
Socializing
Waiting at thresholds
Socialization group class
Group classes give us an opportunity to safely and properly socialize our dogs and teach them how to respectfully be around other creatures.
Some believe that dogs need to be in direct contact with other dogs to socialize. This is not the case. For example, I have found that I can socialize a dog outside an enclosed dog park by training obedience.
Behavior Modification and Management
- Do you have an aggressive or reactive dog? Or is it just a reaction to fear or uncertainty? I will assess your dog and put together a plan to build their confidence and show them a life that is predictable and positive so that we can form a new way of dealing with what the dog may consider a stressful situation.
Home Management and manners
Do you have an active dog that you want to be able to live in your home stress-free? I have several tools to positively teach dogs to navigate stress such as separation anxiety without living space distractions, neurotic tendencies, and barking. I will show you how to help your high-drive dog learn how to live in their own home comfortably and confidently.
